In mythology, the phoenix is a magical bird that, upon death, rises from the ashes. By definition, phoenixes are about rebirth, but also of excellence. The same is true for Phoenix Dental Designs Inc. After years of working in labs both large and small—of managing departments and even running labs of his own—our owner and founder, Don Hebert, wanted to build something of excellence with an eye to the future. Inspired by the technological advancements revolutionizing the industry, Don started Phoenix Dental Designs with the dream of learning new skills and training a new generation of Dental Technicians.
Who We Are
Don Hebert, CDT
Owner/Founder
Don has over 27 years of experience in the industry and has been a Certified Dental Technician for 10 years. During his career, he’s worked as a Department Manager as well as owned/co-owned dental labs. Through these experiences, he’s learned about the industry, honed his skills, and developed a vision for the future.
With over four years of direct clinical experience, Don has special insight that many CDTs lack. Spending time working directly alongside dentists and having direct involvement with patients gave him invaluable knowledge that directly translates to his work on dental appliances.
Kandi Hamrick
Office Manager
Kandi is new to the industry, but you may notice she looks pretty familiar when she comes by for pickups/deliveries. That’s because she’s Don’s daughter and the resemblance is undeniable.
Over the years, Kandi has worked in various office settings and has an eye for detail that will help keep us organized. She has a passion for writing and hopes to use those skills to keep you informed of news from the lab as well as interesting things happening in the industry.

Ongoing education and learning opportunities are central to who we are as individuals and as a company. Part of Don’s inspiration for building a new lab came from his experience at educational conferences and seminars locally and internationally.
Don was among the first group of Americans to attend a conference in Germany to learn about fabrication of PEEK appliances as an alternative to traditional metal and/or zirconia hybrid sub-structures. He came back revitalized and hungry to learn more and expand on his skills.
